چکیده

In order to clarify the controversial issue of topological nature in a mixed-valent Kondo system, ${\mathrm{SmB}}_{6}$, we have explored surface states on nonpolar (110) employing both angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) experiment and ab initio density-functional theory (DFT) band calculations. Based ARPES spectroscopic fingerprints DFT structures, ascribe observed spectral weights at $\overline{X}$ $\overline{Y}$ Brillouin zone (TSSs) ``topological insulator (TI)'' crystalline (TCI)'' nature, respectively. With varying chemical potential, double Dirac cones TCI exhibit Lifshitz transition Fermi surfaces with intriguing spin textures. We also examined TSSs nearly (111) ${\mathrm{SmB}}_{6}$ connection recently reported result proposed way probe points that are buried bulk-projected bands.

Fermi surfaces of surface states on Si „ 111 ... - Ag , Au

Metallic surface states on semiconducting substrates provide an opportunity to study low-dimensional electrons decoupled from the bulk. Angle resolved photoemission is used to determine the Fermi surface, group velocity, and effective mass for surface states on Si(111))3)-Ag, Si(111))3)-Au, and Si(111)A21 3A21-(Ag1Au). For Si(111))3)-Ag the Fermi surface consists of small electron pockets popul...

Cyclic dipeptide immobilization on Au(111) and Cu(110) surfaces.

Soft X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) and Near Edge X-ray Absorption Fine Structure (NEXAFS) spectroscopy have been used to probe the electronic and adsorption properties of two cyclic dipeptides, i.e. cyclo(glycyl-histidyl) and cyclo(phenylalanyl-prolyl), on Au(111) and Cu(110) surfaces. The core level spectra show chemical shifts which indicate weak chemisorption on Au(111), and stronge...

Alloying and Structure of Ultrathin Gallium Films on the (111) and (110) Surfaces of Palladium

Growth, thermal stability, and structure of ultrathin gallium films on Pd(111) and Pd(110) are investigated by low-energy ion scattering and low-energy electron diffraction. Common to both surface orientations are growth of disordered Ga films at coverages of a few monolayers (T = 150 K), onset of alloy formation at low temperatures (T ≈ 200 K), and formation of a metastable, mostly disordered ...

on translation of phatic communion and socio-cultural relationships between the characters of the novels

phatic communion is a cultural concept which differs across cultures. according to hofstede (2001), the u.s. tends to have individualistic culture; however, asian countries tend to have collectivistic cultures. these cultures view phatic communion differently. in individualistic cultures like u.s., phatic communion reflects speakers’ socio-cultural relationships in conversations. to see whether...

Influence of surface states on tunneling spectra of n-type GaAs(110) surfaces

We show that surface states within the conduction band of n-type GaAs 110 surfaces play an important role in reducing the tunneling current out of an accumulation layer that forms due to an applied potential from a nearby probe tip. Numerical computation of the tunneling current combined with an electrostatic potential computation of the tip-induced band bending TIBB reveals that occupation of ...
